#WHAT IS THE FIRST DRAGON BALL Z SERIES SERIES#
But hey, if things weren't that way, opinions probably wouldn't have much of a purpose, and this post wouldn't mean much of anything. In 1989 begins the television broadcast of Dragon Ball Z, an animated series devoted to the second great arc of the original manga: the life of Son Goku. Whether You're a die-hard fan Dragon Ball Z or you think Dragon Ball Super is the best thing since sliced bread, there will always be a debate over which show is superior. More often than not, the protagonists or the good guys in the series are seen using the dragon balls to bring back their fallen comrades or loved ones, who have died in battles protecting the earth. So of course, the cool thing to would be to say that the newer show can't compare to the good old days of DBZ, which was probably what Dragon Ball fans said about Dragon Ball Z when the show was in its prime. First off, the name ‘Dragon Ball Z’ actually refers to dragon balls with mystical powers that can summon a dragon, which makes wishes come true. The first major hurdle for continuity is the 13 Dragon Ball Z movies that ran during the second installment of the Akira Toriyama franchise. While the Tournament arc with Universes 7 and 6 was a step in the right direction for the series, it wasn’t until Goku Black was introduced that the series found its groove. It's pretty much second nature to attack the latest trend nowadays, and as of 2018, when it comes to the Dragon Ball franchise, the latest trend is Dragon Ball Super. The first two dozen episodes of Dragon Ball Super were pretty rough.

Watch Kai in full if you decide to watch, as there are no full filler episodes to skip. However, Kai is a good option when rewatching the series. Related: Get HBO via Amazon Channels for Addictive Dramas, Hilarious Comedies & Hit Movies I still recommend the original Dragon Ball Z over Kai, especially if this is your first time watching.I think the initial Zs fillers help expand the story, the world, and the character development while they create more suspense. The same can be said for the newer generation when it comes to Dragon Ball Super.

Most people who grew up watching DBZ on a regular basis as a kid will probably say that it was much more enjoyable and entertaining. Since DBS hasn't been around for as nearly as long as DBZ, this factor is nonexistent.

This may or may not have something to do with the fact that the series isn't over just yet, but either way, this plays a huge part in determining how good the show actually is.ĭragon Ball Z doesn't just have its legions of fans, there's also the nostalgia factor. Although Dragon Ball Super has been around since the year 2015, it's still considered the new kid on the block.
